About Us

Cambridge Memorial Hospital is a thriving 133-bed community hospital that proudly provides acute care services including Palliative/Rehabilitation/Oncology, Surgery, Medicine, Women & Children’s Health, Intensive Care Unit, Perioperative Services, Mental Health, and Emergency Services. Our 1,113 dedicated and skilled health care professionals, technicians and staff provide excellent care to residents of Cambridge, the township of North Dumfries and the Region of Waterloo. Our innovative approach to patient-centered care has resulted in provincially and nationally recognized programs. Medical decision support is provided through the integrated use of technology. We also provide state-of-the-art diagnostic services, and a full range of inpatient and outpatient programs.

Professional Growth

At Cambridge Memorial Hospital, professional development and practice is supported through the New Graduate Guarantee Initiative, Late Career Incentives, annual New Knowledge and Best Practice Nursing Fair, and Tuition Assistance Program. Our Hospital provides flexible scheduling options, including job sharing.

Cambridge Memorial Hospital is a recognized RNAO Best Practice Spotlight Organization. Our Hospital has created a working environment where the most current evidence is used in day-to-day practice by all Nurses.

Nurses are actively involved as Champions within Best Practice Teams and at the Unit Level. Nurses are also involved as integral stakeholders in decision making regarding proposed practice changes.

Innovation in a Learning Environment
Cambridge Memorial Hospital is an official teaching site of McMaster University’s Michael G. DeGroote School of Medicine. As a full-fledged teaching Hospital, medical students experience teaching and educational excellence with our physicians and staff, our patients, and with learners from our community. Cambridge Memorial Hospital is a Centre for Learning Excellence and unveils to staff the lifelong learning objectives that come with being a teaching hospital.
Cambridge Memorial Hospital is also a national leader in environmental stewardship. As part of an energy saving and facility renewal program in partnership with Honeywell, at almost 10,000 square feet, Cambridge Memorial Hospital’s SolarWall® initiative is the largest hospital project of its kind in the world and will result in CO2 displacement of approximately 200 tons each and every year. The solar walls on the exterior of the hospital building significantly lessen energy costs and reduce the hospital’s carbon footprint.
